Our family lived in Ames for a few years and, though I never got to know Steve on a personal level, I enjoyed corresponding with him over the years regarding innovations in residential energy. He was always so helpful, and even though we have moved out-of-state, Steve Wilson "The Energy Guy" has stayed with me as one of the many fine folks in Ames who contribute to a wonderful community.

Paul Hinderaker, Retired Director of Fleet and Fac on Jan 28, 2019

My sympathies to Steve's family and friends for his tragic death. I was fortunate to have worked closely with Steve on numerous energy projects for the City of Ames. He was a great asset, easy to work with, and always provided reliable information and assistance. He will be missed.

I graduated in 1972 with Steve! He was a wonderful guy. He was so kind and fun. Everybody that met him, liked him instantly because he was so welcoming. I know Martha was waiting for him with welcome arms. May God bless you all as you recall great family memories.

I met Steve in kindergarten. He lived a few doors down from my grnadmother’s house. Whenever I came to visit her, I would go to Steve’s house and play. We went through all grades together and graduated the same year. He was such a nice person. So sorry to hear of his passing. My sympathies to his family.
