Curtis Dean Matzen died on December 1, 2021. He was born March 23, 1961, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Gerald Andrew Matzen and Bobette Joyce (Gaedke) Matzen. Curtis was a brother to Timothy Alan, Jodi Ann (Jones), Starlene Leslie (Hagley), Kelly Jean (Freel), and Connie Marie (Davis). Father to Curtis Gerald Matzen, Alyssa Heppe ,Robyn(Billy) White.

He left school and gained successful employment with the Hy-Vee ,Safeway , as well as Walmart and Sam's, attaining top managerial positions for many years. He met and married Vibeke Hoffman and was a father to Alyssa Marie and Robyn. Later the family joyfully welcomed the birth of Curtis Gerald Matzen.

Curtis was such a charismatic individual, loved the Cubs and was an avid fan of every sport, able to recite any sport statistic of any player or game, if there was a game televised he'd be watching it. If there wasn't a sport playing he was always watching True Grit Western channel. When it came to numbers he was a genius.

We want to express our love for our brother, Curtis and how much we will miss seeing him. He was part of what is good in this world: love, humor, expressed concern for others, giving advice even if unneeded, and if able, he would help.

Curtis believed in the Holy Trinity, and we find comfort that he will live eternally in the peace and love promised to us. Curt is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Andrew Matzen, is survived by his children , Alyssa Heppe, Robyn (Billy)White, Curtis Gerald Matzen, mother Bobette Joyce Matzen, siblings, Timothy Alan Matzen, Jodi Ann Matzen (Ralph)Jones, Starlene Leslie Matzen (Mark) Hagley, Kelly Matzen(Gary) Freel, Connie Marie Matzen(Eric) Davis, nieces Heather Dawn (James)Stevens, Heidi Lynn (David) Titus, Shaye Marie Lynch, Jazlyn Tala and Kaylie Grace Davis, nephews Ralph Leroy (Christina)Jones, Daniel (Vera) Bellile, Terence Allen(Lauren)Baptiste, Gerald (Tony) Anthony Davis.
