Lynn Schwery age 57, of Boone formerly of Ames, and Harlan died at his home Aug. 12. A visitation will be held 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, with the family present at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care in Ames, with a 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Catholic Church 2001 College Place in Harlan, with one hour of visitation before the service at the church burial will be at Harlan Cemetery.

Lynn Michael Schwery was born July 29, 1954 in Harlan, the son of Elmer and Arlene (Schechinger) Schwery he grew up in Westphalia and graduated from Harlan High School. He married Ardith Porter on April 27, 1974 in Westphalia. The couple lived in Atlantic for 16 years before moving to Ames in 1997and moved to Boone in 2007. Lynn was employed at Central Iowa Contracting Corp. for 17 years as a Construction Foreman. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Volunteer for the Westphalia-Elkhorn Fire Department and previous member of the Elks and Pheasants Forever.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Ardith of Boone daughters, Emily and Jennifer Schwery both of Indianola, and a son Carl Schwery of Ames, brothers, Tim (Cheryl) Schwery of Underwood, Kelly (Sandi) Schwery of Harlan, sisters, Cheryl (Kevin) Ronfeldt of Neola, Christi (Chuck) Leinen of Omaha, and a brother in law Leon Schmidt of Harlan, nieces and nephews.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Charlene Schmidt.
