Jim Hitzeman (84) of Webster City, IA passed away peacefully at home Sunday, October 9.

Formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Jim moved to Hugoton, KS and later Iowa during retirement to be closer to family and improve the living conditions for his wife (Carol). Although Alzheimer's disease robbed Jim of his fun-loving personality; he still loved fishing, playing golf, spoiling his pets and many backyard gatherings with friends and family.

Jim is survived by his children Lori (Wayne) Layman of Webster City, IA, Mark (Denice) Hitzeman of Oak Harbor, WA and his grandchildren in Washington, Michigan, and Missouri.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife (Carol), parents (Manford and Evelyn Hitzeman), sister (Marilyn Burkman), and brothers (Duncan and Bill McLeish).

In lieu of flowers: Jim's family has suggested donations to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) in his honor.
