The burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138.

Bob was born April 9, 1957, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. The son of Charles "Chuck" Fleege and Theresa Poduska Fleege.  He graduated from St. Edmonds High School in Fort Dodge, Iowa. graduated from the University of Omaha with a degree in Public Administration. Bob served in the US Air Force and was proud to serve his Country. He married Barbara Marion Dinsmore on March 25, 1983. The couple lived in Omaha, Nebraska, where they had two boys, Daniel Robert Fleege and Dean Michael Fleege. The family moved to Riverview, Florida, then to Fort Dodge, Iowa. It was in Fort Dodge that Bob became an entrepreneur, starting multiple businesses in the community. As the boys attended college at Iowa State University, Bob and Barb moved to Ames, Iowa in 2007. Bob loved working with tools, especially creating art and pens from wood which he would often give as gifts to loved ones.

Bob and Barb enjoyed ISU sporting events, golfing, riding motorcycles, and joined the American Legion Riders, post 232. On July 4th, 2008, Bob had a life-threatening motorcycle accident in Colorado during a cross-country trip with his wife. Thankfully he survived but was badly injured and lost a lot of mobility in the process. During the summer of 2013, Bob and Barb moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa to be closer to family. Due to worsening health complications stemming from the earlier motorcycle accident, Bob became a resident at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown in the summer of 2021 where he received excellent care. Barb followed suit and moved back to Ames to be closer to Marshalltown to support him during his final years. Bob and Barb celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on March 25, 2023.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barb Fleege of Ames, sons, Daniel Fleege of Portland, Oregon, and Dean Fleege and his wife Mindy Fleege, and granddaughter, Elena Fleege, all of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Theresa Fleege, granddaughter, Addison Louise Fleege, and grandson, Aiden Edward Fleege.

Bob was a loving father and husband. He was deeply loved and will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

CandleI'm so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a good man and I enjoyed getting to know him over the years as a customer where I worked and then as a friend when he had a race team with my husband Jim. May you all find peace during this difficult time.
