Jo Ann was born August 16, 1945, in Salem, Iowa, to Marvin and Grace (Siverly) Hunting. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Mount Pleasant, Iowa in 1963 and attended William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Jo Ann dedicated over thirty years of her career to McFarland Clinic in Ames, Iowa, where she formed lasting connections with colleagues and patients alike.

A devoted grandmother, Jo Ann cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, supporting them at sporting events rain or shine. In her leisure time, she found joy tending her garden and flower beds, ensuring each plant received the upmost care. JoAnn also spent a lot of her leisure time playing card games with her grandchildren and friends. She loved to bake goodies and shared with all her beloved ones. She often relaxed by watching Hallmark movies, Animal Planet, and loved to watch sports, and enjoying Culver's strawberry Concrete Mixer.

Jo Ann is survived by her children: Bryan (Ivonne) Griffin, Scott (Karen) Griffin; her grandchildren Hunter, Tyler, Colten, Christian, Nathan, Grace, and Maddox; and her sister Sara Radlinski.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gerritt Hunting.

After the Celebration of Life, all are welcome to attend the Funeral Service at the Ames Municipal Cemetery at 310 E 9th St. Ames, IA 50010.

" Merciful Father, we are together on earth along in the whole universe, look at us and help us to love one another. Teach us to understand each other, just as you understand us. Make ourselves as fresh as the morning. Make our hearts as innocent as The Lamb. May we forgive each other and forget the past, and may we have peace inside and in our world, today and forever. Amen

I have only lovely memories of JoAnn - mostly from the perspective of bleachers, cheering her grandkids and their teammates through victories and defeats. Always sporting her own fabulous style, with neon toenails and a smile on her face, she shared in the fun of life with laughter and kindness. My sincerest condolences extend to her lovely family at this time of parting! 💓

Joann and I were next door neighbors for 17 years. We had some great times. I moved away from Ames in 2020. I feel close to her family! Thank you Lord for JoAnn’s life and may she rest in peace. 💕🤓
