LaVonne Ann Treadway, 84, of Ames, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the home of her son, Craig.

A Mass of Christian Burial for LaVonne Treadway will be held at 10:30 AM, on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Avenue, in Ames. Burial will follow at Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation for LaVonne Treadway will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM with a scriptural vigil service beginning at 7:00 PM, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, in Ames. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Saturday morning at the church.

LaVonne was born on October 31, 1940, to Edwin and Camilla (Parks) Frame in Sioux City, Iowa, where she was raised and educated. She later graduated from Edwards Business Institute in Sioux City.

LaVonne was united in marriage to Benny Treadway on January 11, 1959. The young family moved to California in 1963 and returned to Iowa in 1979, where LaVonne was employed as a secretary at Iowa State University, retiring in 2007 after 22 years.
LaVonne was a member of Saint Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames and was active as a member of Saint Gerard's Circle. She was formerly a member of ABWA. She loved quilting and playing Foot and Mouth with the ladies at the Senior Center, and vacations with her husband and children.

LaVonne is survived by her children, Randall (Vickie) Treadway, Craig (Sandra) Treadway, Stacey (Randy) DeWitt, and Tracey Treadway; grandchildren, Shannon (Steve) Greer, Lindsay (Paul) Crowe, Nichole (Cody) Murphy, Dani (Justin) Kasner, Bre (Blake) Bass, Erin (Corrigan) Ouverson, Chase Carlson, Megan Carlson and Nick DeWitt; great-grandchildren, Kylie Esch, Uriyah Esch, Olivia Crowe, Eli Crowe, Finn Murphy, Hadley Murphy, Jaxon Kasner, Aiden Long Langloss, Preslie DeWitt, Elliot DeWitt, Brycen Hansen, with Isaac Bass coming in September; brother Jerry Frame; along with nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Benny Treadway and sister-in-law, Kathee Frame.

So sorry to know that LaVonne is no longer with us. So many memories of being her neighbor in California in the 70’s. I’m happy I got to see her again recently. She was a wonderful lady. She is now together in heaven with Benny. Our condolences to her family.
