Jattie Wilkinson Baumgartner died peacefully in her home in Ames, IA on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Burial service will be in the Red Oak Church Cemetery in Walnut, IL at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20 with the Rev. Bob Meador officiating.
Jattie was born March 6, 1911, in Jackson, MO daughter of Jesse and Florence (Davis) Wilkinson. On February, 14, 1947, she married Omer Baumgartner in Kewanee, IL. They founded Wilkinson Office Supply and Equipment Company with offices in Galesburg and Kewanee, IL and Burlington, IA. In 1974 they sold the business. Jattie was a professional woman before her time. She educated her daughters and all four grandchildren.
Jattie is survived by her husband, Omer; two daughters: Donna Baumgartner Prizgintas and Mary Baumgartner Levner both of Ames; four grandchildren: Diana Prizgintas, Ames, Jack Levner, New York City, Arion Thiboumery, Ames, and Stefanie Levner, Amsterdam; one great grandson, Max Prizgintas, Ames; and one sister, Elsie Beaudrean, Cape Girardeau, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Oak United Methodist Church, Walnut, IL. Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with the arrangements.
