Margaret Viola (Hand) Clouser, 86, of Ames, formerly of Gilbert, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 05, at the Story County Long Term Care Center in Nevada. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, with the family present 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 8, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care. Burial will be at Gilbert Cemetery.
Margaret Clouser was born in Pilot Mound, Iowa to Allen and Pearl (Good) Hand. She graduated from Napier High School. On March 14, 1959 she married Kenneth (Bud) Clouser. After working at Bourns Inc. for 30 years she retired in 1989. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching college basketball and professional baseball, especially her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. She was a member of the Napier United Methodist Church. She served on the Gilbert City Council and the Gilbert Community School Board.
She is survived by daughters Linda Adams Shook (Steve) of Sanford, North Carolina, Nancy Adams Miller (Lyle) of Oelwein, Iowa and Terri Adams Scott (Bruce) of Walnut Creek California, son Don Adams (Kay) of Gilbert; granddaughters Heather Shook Afable (Victor) of Pauma Valley, California, and Ashley Miller of Warrensburg, Missouri, grandsons Josh Shook of Sanford, North Carolina, Cory Adams of Ames, Jeff (Candace) Adams of Gilbert; Rob (Shannon) Adams of Des Moines; and Marc (Danielle) Miller of Chicago, Illinois, great grandsons Dylan Adams of Webster City, Keagan Adams of Gilbert, great granddaughters Sofia Afable and Olivia Afable of Pauma Valley, California; sister Irene Wilkins of Huxley, sisters-in-laws Abbie Hand of Boone, Lucille Watson of Ames, and Marlene Weigel (Paul) of Boone; brothers-in-law Dave Fagle of Marshalltown, Gerald (Butch) Clouser and Richard Bark both of Ames, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Kenneth (Bud) Clouser, sisters Lillie Johnson and Opal Fagle, brothers Eldin Hand and Lavern Hand.

CandleI worked at Green HIlls and took care of Margaret while she lived there. I have very fond memories of her, she could lift my spirits when I was having a down day. She is a lady that I will never forget! Thoughts and prayers to Margaret's family at this time.
