Evelyn Mae Ellis age 66, of Ames died Sat. Jan 5 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A 1:30 p.m. funeral service will be Thursday, Jan 10 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care in Ames with two hours of gathering of friends and family before the service.
Evelyn was born in Boone Iowa the daughter of Vernon and Melvina Sprague. She married Charles Ellis May 20, 1966. She and Charlie lived in Ames all of their married life. She was a custodian for Iowa State University before retiring in 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie her children: Danny (Deb) Ellis, Charles (Kris) Ellis, Jeff (Cheryl) Ellis, Wendell (Tammy) Ellis, Chris (Julie) Ellis, all of Nevada, Jonie Smith of Ames, Adam Ellis of Des Moines, sisters: Joylee Murray, Nancy Manke, Patty (George) Tolle, Kay Jackson, brothers: Paul Janssen, Robert Sprague, 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 nieces.
